CALL FOR ART: Pollination Syndrome

CALL FOR ART
POLLINATION SYNDROME - GROUP EXHIBITION
JULY 8th, 2022

Ghost Gallery is seeking art for an educational group exhibition entitled ‘Pollination Syndrome.’
This exhibit will explore Pacific Region pollinators, and the plants they prefer. The interaction between pollinators and plants have influenced the evolution of both groups. Their intertwined relationship helps the pollinators find pollen and nectar sources, while ensuring the plants are able to thrive and reproduce by having their pollen carried from one plant to another. With this exhibit we would like to direct more awareness towards the Pacific Region’s diverse pollinator population (including some species that are on the endangered / threatened list).

The gallery seeks artwork that illustrates the symbiotic relationship between chosen pollinators and the plant(s) they are most attracted to. We encourage artists to research Pacific region (Wa, OR, ID, HI) pollinators and bring attention to perhaps some lesser-known species. Here’s a great resource just to get started: https://www.nwcb.wa.gov/pdfs/PacificLowlandrx8.pdf
