“I am a wood carver and visual artist from Seattle, WA. I build assemblages using a blend of found objects and objects I make myself. I use house paint, graphite, dirt, cardboard, and wood carvings, among other things, to create stark landscapes that reflect what I see going on in the world. The concept started with simple spoons, then more intricate shapes, which then mutated into botanical beings that cast shadows in stark white boxes. I also make carved wood sculptural objects using cherry wood, roasted in the oven, burned, and oiled.

While I don’t have a traditional arts education, I’ve taught myself through books, classes, documentaries, galleries, and pretty much anything I can get my hands on. I’ve taken classes at several art institutions such as SF Center For the Book, Pratt fine art center, and most recently I was given a full scholarship to study Windsor Chair making with Aspen Golan at the Florida School of Woodworking.”
