Giants: Work by Erin Kendig
Thur, July 11th - Sun, Aug. 4th, 2019
Opening Reception July 11th 5-9pm during Capitol Hill Art Walk

This show continues the artist’s ongoing look at the Pacific Northwest landscape and conceptions of nature. Rendered in meticulous watercolor and gouache, these surreal paintings reference both the macro and micro, highlighting Northwest tree species–cedar, spruce, larch–as well as large ecosystems encompassing mosses, shrubs, fungi, and ferns. Focused on expressing the dynamic, interconnected aspects of our world, these pieces also explore the Northwest landscape during the Anthropocene and in the face of climate change.
