Notes: Sassafras, Cuban Tobacco, Opium, Teak, Vanilla, Sandalwood

Douglas Fairbanks was the swashbuckling heartthrob of silent films such as Robin Hood, The Mark of Zorro, and The Thief of Baghdad. His scandalous affair with Mary Pickford led to the dissolution of both of their marriages. The two eventually married becoming the first celebrity power couple.

Along with business partners Mary Pickford, Charlie Chaplin, and D.W. Griffith, Fairbanks founded United Artists (one of the top entertainment studios to this day) so that they could maintain artistic control over their films at a time dominated by an oppressive studio system.

His son, Douglas Fairbanks Jr. continued in the footsteps of his father and was also a massive star. Father and son are interred together at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.

This homage to “The King of Hollywood,” a nickname he passed on to Clark Gable, has notes of sassafras, Cuban tobacco, teak, opium, vanilla and sandalwood.
